About Kansas City

At its roots, Kansas City is where pioneers embarked on their journeys west. We have retained our trailblazing spirit when it comes to entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration (not to mention jazz and barbecue). Because Kansas City is not a Design and Development Launch Pilot site, Accelerating Collaboration can offer a neutral environment, but one that is far from bland. Kansas City has a stellar track record of cross-sector collaboration around workforce and educational initiatives; the last ten years has yielded impressive efforts aimed at increasing the number and diversity of people prepared to enter the STEM workforce.  Named the most entrepreneurial city in America, our community has consistently developed innovative solutions to complex economic and social issues.

Kansas City also has the COMPLIMENTARY STREET CAR with a stop on the corner of Union Station, that will transport attendees to an area called the Kansas City Power & Light District that has an ‘urban flare’ with several bars, restaurants, boutiques, movie theatres, bowling & the Sprint Center, which houses our live concerts and some sporting/specialty events. The Street Car goes all the way down to the eclectic River Market area, with more bars, unique dining, boutiques and our City Market.
